This is a book about a small mouse named Despereaux. Despereaux was born differently compared to the other mice. So once he met a princess named Pea, and fell in love with her. However, the other mice disliked it and when the Mouse Council heard that news, he was angry and Despereaux went into dungeon. In the dungeon there was the Gregory(Jailor) and Gregory kept Despereaux safe from the other rats who eats mice. Despereaux made a promise to Gregory that he will tell a story which has a light.
