The most drastic change was in wind energy, which increased from 7% in 2005 to 20% in 2015. On the other hand, both fossil fuel and hydro energy decreased during the same period.
The highest percentage of energy production in 2005 came from nuclear energy, at 35%, and this figure remained the same in 2015. In descending order, the next sources in 2005 were fossil fuels at 30%, hydro at 24%, wind at 7%, and solar at 4%.
In 2015, the energy production methods in Spain were distributed as follows: nuclear at 35%, fossil fuels at 22%, wind at 20%, hydro at 17%, and solar at 6%.
