However, as I continued to study, I wondered how life science could contribute to human life and its values. And, I realize that while bioscientists are focused on developing medicines or treatments that can eradicate or alleviate the disease itself, doctors aim to enable individual patients to live a normal life through medication, medicine and an attitude to life. Bioscientists can give people hope for life, but just hope itself could not be a strategy for patients facing disease, and it is the role of doctors to make them understand this hope and keep them hopeful. That is to say, I have a firm belief that I should become a doctor who can protect each individual's life from disease and give them new values for living the life by restoring healthy lives. This belief was further cemented by participation in the empirical study on ‘Perception of Healthy Living’ which was one of the university's team projects. The result of this study also says that it is important that making their dignity of life continue, not just the extension of life through disease recovery. I believe this is the role of a doctor.

However, as I continue to study, I wondered how life science could contribute to human life and its values. I realized that while bioscientists are focused on developing medicines or treatments that can eradicate or alleviate the disease itself, doctors aim to enable individual patients to live normally through medication and right attitude to life. Bioscientists can give people hope to continue breathing and living, but just holding on with hope is not an enough assurance for patients facing diseases. It is the role of doctors to make them understand this kind of hope and trust the process. That is to say, I firmly believe that I should become a doctor who can protect each individual's life from disease and give them new values to live in a healthy lifestyle. This belief was further cemented when I participated in the empirical study on ‘Perception of Healthy Living’ which was one of the university's team projects. The result of this study also states that it is important to sustain their dignity of life, not just an extension of life after their recovery. Thus, I believe this is the role of a doctor.
